Thread: Installing GTK+


hello everyone,

i've downloaded gtk+ , of dependencies , experiencing difficulties installing it. followed instructions on site -->http://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stab...-building.html

stuck on step asks run following command in terminal: ./configure --prefix=/opt/gtk.
part of output in terminal when run command:

no package 'glib-2.0' found  no package 'atk' found  no package 'pango' found  no package 'cairo' found  no package 'cairo-gobject' found  no package 'gdk-pixbuf-2.0' found    consider adjusting pkg_config_path environment variable if  installed software in non-standard prefix.    alternatively, may set environment variables base_dependencies_cflags  , base_dependencies_libs avoid need call pkg-config.  see pkg-config man page more details.  adamjensen@ubuntu:~/desktop/gtk+-3.2.3$



supposed add directories dependencies in source code gtk+? if so, where? supposed install dependencies well? if provide detailed step-by-step explanation of i'm supposed do, appreciated. gnome site has not helped 1 bit.

why not prebuilt binary package?
