Thread: Libreoffice Base toolbars not showing up, slow, report crashes LO

i ms access hobbyist in microsoft years. learned build databases cover many needs our small office. changed ubuntu full time, @ home, 4 years ago. stopped database development , started again needed function know database can provide. have 10.04 libreoffice ppa. created tables , there differences part of learning experience. going forms started did access, wizards. form got created. noticed things wanted change opened form in design mode. again, problems selecting items (ctrl-click select individual items) part of learning curve (see chapter 8 of openoffice getting started guide). @ point problem arose. toolbars not showing up. went view --> toolbars select form toolbars , nothing happens after click on them. opening tables show total record count @ bottom number wrong. have table 129 records. record count showed 16. had navigate last record have correct number show up. slow operation too. went prepare simple report see if problem of toolbar , speed showed up. tried wizard went until tried show report. threw error. tried manual report creation went good. until tried run report. time, crashed application.
@ point, not know if bug libreoffice team or ubuntu team. have used calc, writer, impress, draw , math without problems me seems rule out possibility of problem on end. thinking of unistalling libreoffice , installing deb libreoffice website.
