Thread: Reformat hard drive to NTFS for W7 install


hello everyone. i'll try , explain clarity can, though moderately technophobic.

attempting install w7 onto laptop running latest edition of ubuntu. eradicate traces of ubuntu wishful murderer.

during install w7, tells me cannot proceed hard drive not formatted compatible degree , needs ntfs. stage looks (not mine, example).



after cursory googling , poking around here , microsoft support, see many people recommending gparted tool required cure ailment.

however, gparted not let me perform task. presume because trying reformat drive in use. gparted screen shot (apologies white edges, bad edit)



here on in stumped. can help?

boot livecd/usb - open gparted.right click on swap if it's mounted - swapoff.

no partitions should mounted - delete - apply.

remove livecd.

whatever need win disk.
