Thread: System crashes after opening CD drive.

hi all,

i'm having odd problem of having complete system hang whenever open cd/dvd drive on laptop. i'm running kubuntu, encounter problem on other linux distro. nothing when press ctrl, alt, f1. have custom, generic intel based laptop ava direct.

system info:

cpu: intel(r) core(tm) i7-2720qm cpu @ 2.20ghz
ram: 8 gigs
cd/dvd: pioneer dvd-rw dvrtd10rs
kernel: ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) 3.0.0-14-generic

did system log files? there errors reported?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
