Thread: Ubuntu networking with Windows-7

i have stumbled again. trying link ubuntu laptop windows-7 laptop. shared folder on ubuntu machine , rebooted both machines. window machine displays ubuntu laptop when click on it, tells me "windows cannot access \\ubuntu-laptop". there options diagnose problem leads me confusion...
have read material find on subject none of cohesive, may left patchwork of settings causing issue. have idea how happen in simple fashion? tried using samba server on ubuntu proved more complex.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
