Thread: Usb ubuntu 11.10 installed programs disappear after restart

i installed ubuntu 11.10 on 2gb pendrive fine , running fine
, installed programs avg n vlc

when restarted pc (used windows 7) removed pendrive
again plugged in boot it
ubuntu fresh install
programs n passwords disappeared

should do???

hello gtanmay. sounds you've tried use more space have on pendrive. have had similar problems occur on virtual machines when used space remastersys. upon restart machine behave fresh install no passwords or available user accounts log into. went looking around , people reckon 10gb of space good.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
