What file type and codec should I use for creating a file to send to have an HDCAM copy made
i'm prepping take video file of film tape dubbing house have hdcam copy of project made. i'm using pc, apple prores not option. file type, codec, , settings recommend?
i considering mxf, highest quality codec xdcam 50, 50mbps (i think). believe hdcam works @ 140mbps, rather not give them file that's compressed 1/3rd that, since source 5k 5120x2560 project. dpx maybe? i've never exported dpx before because it's not option on copy of cs6 - maybe has downloaded separately? considering quicktim in h.264 @ 140mbps, think mean serious rendering tape house. able offer them few different options , see prefer, area knowledge runs thin. suggestions appreciated. i'm hoping there's industry standard can stick to.

your cs6 'format' dropdown list should include dpx:
among options listed, dpx choice.
be dupe house can accept these files before proceeding.
