Creating a header that includes various images that blend into one another

hi everyone,

 

my name caramelsmoothie , new adobe , must enjoying learning adobe products! in middle of building website using adobe muse , far good. however, stumped @ how create header. know how want not sure how it. not sure call type of effect, can found here on these sites:

wbhsm.org

 

if @ header on first site , see 5 or 6 images seem blend 1 other. creating site , want create similar header using vintage photos on second site, has similar effect, pictures stacked collage. assuming these 2 headers created in photoshop correct?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
