lost keyboard shortcut for render

in last 2 premire elements 10 projects have started, keyboard shortcut rendering (return) no longer operational.  in keyboard customization menu, choice grayed out , can't select it.

 

any shortcuts fixing this?  have re-install program?  premire came in package photoshop, , suspect have re-install photoshop also, avoid -seems asking trouble!

also, render command not work when choose drop down menu.  , have mac running os 10.

is light gray work area bar along top of timeline on entire project? clips under work area bar rendered.

 

can post screen capture of timeline forum?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
