Thread: Arch Linux Networking Issues

i need arch linux , can't register on forums can't solve question "what output of "date -u +%w$(uname)|sha256sum|sed 's/\w//g'"?" need in order register.

(tried "echo "date -u +%w$(uname)|sha256sum|sed's/\w//g'" doesn't accept output in registration (i've heard might broken though))



i'm asking here.


when try connect network type:

iwconfig wlan0 essid "id" key s:word
ip link set wlan0 up
dhcpcd waln0

(my essid not id , password not word, put in don't want give actual pass or id (also, command connecting wep encrypted router (i know wep terrible), router wep nintendo ds (the old one) , don't know how connect wpa in arch linux of yet (i figure out though) (just letting know ))

dhcpcd times out , can't connect. don't know problem is; connect fine while on live-usb. way can connect typing dhcpcd , dhcpcd wlan0 few times, , doesn't work. don't think it's driver issue (could wrong of course).

router d-link router (not sure of model or anything, if need more info on router ask).

netbook acer aspire 1 zg5 (not sure if help).


need sound , possibly few other things, don't matter right , can live without them (and figure out on own).


also, not have gui, cli (and want cli time being); fixed require work in cli environment.
