Thread: can't install drivers in virtualbox??

hello everyone,

have problem, have windows xp installed through virtualbox (newest version) , want have internet connection. , since know (from previous install of xp without virtualbox on laptop) needs specific driver wireless work (the wireless card isn't supported in standard windows xp install).

went , downloaded drivers, used usb stick transfer ubuntu virtual windows xp , put in c:\ drive. wont install. have tested .exe on other pc's , in wine installation @ least starts, in virtualbox doesn't. show error "not enough memory" shortly everytime try it, wondering if possible install drivers on virtualbox?

anyways, want know if there workaround or way intall driver on virtual windows xp, because if isn't case have problem keeping windows xp alive on virtualbox due "register online in 30 days or windows dies!!"-message continually in right lower corner. appreciate suggestions on this.

do mean want windows xp on virtualbox able connect internet on own? or want use same internet on host os on guest winxp?
latter- don't need install drivers- if you're connected internet on host os (whatever is)- need enable correct network adapter in virtualbox settings xp.
, btw- have windows validation?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
