Thread: Did kernel headers move in 11.10?

for few years every new ubuntu release network has dropped gigabit down 10 mb/s until rebuild e1000 driver flags. i've upgraded 11.10 , i'm unable rebuild. message e1000 makefile says need install kernel-devel. synaptic knows nothing name. looked around linux-kernel-devel, seems there no such package more? installed linux-headers-3.0.0-15 match linux-image-3.0.0-15 have installed, e1000 still says can't find kernel header files in of expected places. has location of these files changed? should try next?

do have linux-headers-generic installed? make works me perfectly.

assume building e1000-8.0.35.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
