Thread: How to open port 21

i have ubuntu machine set up.
have configured ftp server on this, can not connect other ftp client.

know there no firewall default, have read ports set closed default, how can check port 21 open , change open if closed. thank in advance

unless have set firewall , closed ports yourself, there nothing in ubuntu preventing connection.

perhaps check server's settings, make sure it's configured allow connections outside , not localhost. depending on kind of network using, check configurations of router. , if trying access server outside of network, you'll have redirect traffic port 21 server in router's configuration.
