Thread: Let's make Time Machine

i've done searching regarding userfriendly backup applications. deja-dup, current favorite of ubuntu, earns karma points simplicity. it's still not there yet.

ever used os x , time machine backup mechanism, knows there nothing quite in other unix variations. stronger: time machine pretty leaves else behind lightyears in terms of simplicity, yet @ same time being extremely effective in restoring single files if needed.

so, let's start little community fundraiser here, because no 1 has felt urge otherwise write time machine clone in past 5 years.

i'm putting down €50 community effort. you're welcome respond if either want put in money or perhaps take challenge , start coding.

kinda hoping feedback, both users chipping in modest amounts of cash , developers interested in making reality.

given how important backups , how subpar current solutions in terms of usability, expecting responses now.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
