Thread: LiveUSB tool to check and repair bad sectors?

i need tool, me check , repair hard-disk of laptop. has no operating system, , if boot conventional ubuntu release, , go fsck or others, system complains cannot read /etc/sudoers.
so, tool let me check , repair hard-disk. cannot install ubuntu, cannot re-partition.

command runs day now, on 40gb 4200 rpm hard-disk. ok, whould have wait more.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
