Thread: Noob just screwed up his unity desktop, HELP

total ubuntu noob here (been using of 3 days), go easy on me i'm still not quite sure i'm doing.

trying move launcher bottom using tutorial here http://shuffleos.com/4525/move-unity...ttom-launcher/ going fine till turned on unity rotated in ccsm, have totally blank desktop nothing @ showing can seem terminal open using ctrl-alt-t

can still login rootwhich fine, i'd appreciate if me un-screw desktop

do have ubuntu 2d on login screen? if login using that.

did few weeks ago, did:
logged ubuntu 2d login screen , go compiz, go preferences , change profile unity, made changes using compiz, logged out , fine

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
