i want use ubuntu on old laptop - sony vaio vgn-b1xp. has 1.5gb ram , intel pentium m735 1.7 ghz processor.

queries are:

cause problems on laptop?
ubuntu compatible printers - hp laserjet 6l , hp photosmart d7160?
run vodafone 3g mobile broadband dongle?
can run nikon viwenx2?
can run photoshop elements 9 , 10?
allow me play dvds (original films/docs) makers? allow me burn dvd/cds?

run iomega ego portable drive?
run freecom exteranal hardrive (v.old one)?
how large ubuntu download?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
