Thread: touchscreen support for Ubuntu [DELL ST2220T]

  • using ubuntu 11.10 32bit unity

  • having dell st2220t touchscreen monitor, reporting internally "lg display lgd-multitouch"

iam sort of stuck getting work.
status is, when plugged in gets recognized.
somehow works, not really.
reacts on touch, calibration borked. if use 2 fingers (multitouch) moves mouse around, in left upper corner not more 5cm left right, , 2cm down - while using whole screen touch.
if run "xinput_calibrator" reacts on upper left touchpoint, not second one. reported near first toouchpoint. (seems operating in 5cm area)

weird, somehow works, , reacts on touches - , somehow cant work.

@ spots in net reported people have work - assume more calibration, installation , softwareproblem rather not working @ all.

usefull touchscreen on market @ moment (high resolution1920x1080, ips-panel, multitouch, ...) , best can put angle want have - laying flat on table. no other touchscreen has @ moment, makes prefect touchscreen work with. thats why try put effort in it, , want work. unfortunately there not read on web touchscreen.
managed getting work "evdev".

tried add parts /etc/x11/xorg.conf
without success, not react on parts. more not know possible problem - or be.
why not recognizing touchscreen real touchdevice, , why there "touch x valuator not match pointer x valuator, pointer emulation may incorrect" in xorg log file?
not recognize mouse lg device.

maybe can out this, since iam stuck somehow.
maybe somone has specially monitor running ubuntu. reported worked fedora, , somehow debian squeeze. must possible work ubuntu somehow. (see links @ bottom)
