Thread: Widescreen monitor - no proper resolution?

hi. bought myself 23 inch dell monitor, options available @ nvidia x server settings, there no resolution suits me. have windows installed, chose 1280x720 resolution.
tried creating xrandr, following guidelines @ help.ubuntu.com, didn't succeed. also, editing monitors.xml file had no effect , resolution same after rebooted.
give me hint?

sudo nvidia-xconfig
regenerate new x config file, might fix it.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
