Thread: Blank Screen after Start

hi, installed ubuntu cd, worked out , all, when restarted , chose ubuntu 11.10, displayed text , stuff, , ubuntu loading screen 5 dots. after couple of seconds, turned black, , needed reboot it. same thing keeps happening. i'm pretty new this, advice? have toshiba c655-s5049 dual-booting ubuntu , windows 7 intel gma 4500m graphics card. think have edit command line, i'm not sure how or if i'm right. thanks.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
