Thread: Can I install Ubuntu like this?

can install ubuntu on windows 7 safe mode.

user profile broke.
cd drive broke
bios locked out.

i sorry don't understand point. , keep using win7 in safe mode?

if plan install proper dual boot, doesn't matter if win7 broken. it's better shrink win7 partition make space ubuntu (if don't have unpartitioned space) within win7 disk management. not sure if can in safe mode.

can still shrink using gparted in ubuntu live mode.

if computer can open boot menu when starting f10 or f12, might able boot usb stick prepared ubuntu install.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
