Thread: CMS recommendations please

the site static. product catalog. no need update news or blog entries (they don't exist). every required add new stuff, new products, eliminate obsolete ones, , on. being able add new language nice.

main issue continuing manually update website navigation menus. navigation menu(s) present on pages , royal pain pull every page, edit , send server.

i've looked @ ssi maintaining menus, seems not seo friendly, although mistaken here.

"big" cmses drupal or joomla! seem overkill. ideally, i'd off-line system allow me maintain website on dedicated workstation , upload server there. means don't have bug boss hosting upgrade (so include database support, php, perl, or whatever... it: i'd - have - on cheap 9.99 per month rather 19.99). skillset limited , i'd rather not have learn *sql, php, perl , whatever else takes run such simple website.

i've looked @ stuff on 'net i'm missing totally obvious. i'd appreciate ideas.

it's not totally clear me have , desire. paying 9.99/month site, , don't have support databases , php? have sites $10/year low volume stuff. hosting using?

wordpress mix of features, ease of use, customization abilities, etc. works static sites, , can need. once learn how works, it's simple install , setup, , move wordpress sites server server time, including little home testing server. requires database , php, in addition web server. helps able @ least understand simple programming in php much, though.

used drupal site once learn more it, , 6 months later, when needed make changes, barely remember how. decided forget drupal rest of way, , use wordpress whenever could.

i've done couple of big non-blog wordpress sites in past few months, learning went. programmer many years before doing this.
