Thread: Grub> uuid - Error 27: Unrecognized command?

even after installing recent version of legacy grub proposed synapt ubuntu 10.04 lts (0.97-29ubuntu60.10.04.2), if open grub terminal & try "grub> uuid" still "error 27: unrecognized command" expect see list of partition uuids.

normal or not?

there explanation or diagnosis or fix?

note: mentioned in thread, maybe got lost in jungle, hence specific question.

i never used that, have looked in file created "uuid"?

@ partitions , uuid's, run command "sudo blkid". maverick 10.10.

if want save them do: sudo blkid > uuid_1_07_12

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
