Thread: Live CD / Live USB will not boot no matter what

hi!

past 3 days have been trying install kubuntu 11.10 , nothing seems work.

burned 2 live cds, 1 of them @ lowest burn speed possible(the 2nd one), both md5sums fine , have downloaded first file opera web browser , second firefox. since both these cds didn't work, tried usb stick , same files , same result happened. thought error in file somehow same thing happens me newest release (the beta 12.04 one) it's wrong settings, guess.

whenever try launch install option main menu or boot live cd option, loading pops in , whenever desktop supposed appear screen looks broken screen, , can't there, gotta reboot manually.

tried checking files check files option on live cd , gives me 1 error, tried running error , happens. error seems located in squashfs file, since it's last file can see getting ''checked'' system.

running windows 7 , kubuntu 11.10 in dual boot willing rid of windows, why trying boot live cd , new proper install (i want format hdd , install kubuntu 11.10)

comment appreciated, support !

that sounds driver issue. it'd post system info people can see kind of equipment you're using.

have tried of boot options available f4 or f6 keys? maybe try adding "nomodeset" kernel parameter

in case, search forums livecd kernel parameters...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
