Thread: Remote printing from AIX to Ubuntu 10.10 with LPR

dear all,
setup follows.
lpd client aix 5.3 server
lpd server ubuntu 10.10 workstation (epson lx 300+ printer attached locally)

while sending print job aix ubuntu, getting error. in cups error log,( error message “+ipp client-error-document-format-not-supported+”).
steps followed

in aix server:
created remote printer queue in aix system v type of spooler on remote server.

in ubuntu workstation:

enabled lpd support (reference: http://computertechnos.blogspot.com/...in-ubuntu.html)

note:
printer working redhat lpd server. issue reporting on ubuntu pc's. hope recommended method connect remote linux printer aix server, please correct me if wrong.



able print out windows , redhat linux pc's error reported on ubuntu 10.10 pc.

help/guidance/suggestions helpful.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
