Thread: What on earth have I done to my audio?

ok, have honest, know next nothing ubuntu. brother installed me after windows crashed on pc year ago. far i've enjoyed though, haven't had problems. before decided try fiddling it. sound wasn't working mic, did googling, messed terminal when shouldn't have , have lost volume control on , can't find sound card. looks when aplay -l thing:

it.. doesn't healthy. honest, have destroyed it? , can please me? do? :( it's gnome 10.04 if helps?

well.. since you're on linux system there isn't reason worries.

okay... can start typing lspci text terminal, copy , paste text thread , able see hardware got inside pc.

next step determine sound driver needed specific hardware, , inside alsa soundcard matrix possible quick search.
