DW ftp only works in passive mode

i have stopped bothering use dw ftp client because of bugginess--it fails upload large websites, whereas filezilla works without hitch. however, since began using fz dw connect remote site using passive mode. purely coincidental or there reason?

if works, don't fix it.

 

ftp entirely dependent on server , configuration. have clients using filezilla (usually upload photos website can download them remotely instead of needing bring them thumb drive or portable hard drive) , love it. , if filezilla better, that's you.

 

but dreamweaver's ftp works servers , offers passive mode means can negotiate remote host , job done. offers sftp hosts require that.

 

use works workflow.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
