Recommended external Javascript editor for Windows

i edit javascript on mac using textwrangler external editor acrobat, find works me. need edit code on pc (windows 7), , tried using extendscript toolkit, have found inserts characters , screws code (silly of me expect adobe's javascript editor work editing javascript in acrobat)

 

i need find editor works , free use, have suggestions?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
