hi,

have laptop running on 11.10 64 bit. things run fine. webcam used work, , can't seem detect it. cheese doesn't find it. cheese used work fine...

question :

should webcam show when "lsusb", regardless of drivers ? (i.e., there easy way of finding whether it's driver related or bad contact somewhere ?)

forgot mention, it's internal webcam - part of notebook...

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
