Thread: How come all the Linux drivers don't take up loads of space?


this has bugged me while.

ubuntu, or linux in general.. install it, , works, plug in device... works..

drivers must come somewhere.. not take loads of space? because there alot of devices 'just work'

know can download additional drivers etc, works before that...

kind of black magic this!?

open source -> different programs can use shared libraries.
same piece of software that's half gig in windows 100mb or less in linux.
