Thread: how to hide paid apps from software-center?


hello,

since have no ability @ moment buy applications, want hide "for purchase" apps software center. did digging online , far found no solution..

- software-sources have multiverse entry, hide non open source apps distributed free
- in software-center, under "all software" button, there several option. if choose stay "provided canonical" loose ability filter category, , valid current session. (like here)
- solution proposed here no longer works - chanel.py no longer contains code suggest comment.

ideas?

i don't have happy answer you, rather few questions. i'm not trying rude, it's going interpreted way:

what's wrong looking @ license terms , see if they're agreeable you? should no matter if it's "free" or not.

why painful see available options? google have "only free" button, , use anyway?

ubuntu's mission make distribution works other computers in business environment, , in order commercial options idea. 1 of major decisions distribution makes: whether or not allow non-free software installed. there lots of distributions decide against, ubuntu decided it. use ubuntu because allows easy installation of non-free software.
