Thread: I am connnected but...

hi friends,

connected internet through "auto eth2". can browse sites, check mails , on. means have internet in browser.
when try install software through "sudo apt-get install <package-name>" or in "ubuntu software center", can't , encounter errors. these error appears when haven't internet connection. can ping www.google.com in terminal.
strange thing: open "network connections" in "system->preferences" , in wired tab see "never" term "last use" of "auto eht2".
have confused.
need install software , can't do.

please me,
in advance,

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
