Thread: Shut down without keyboard?

is there way can clean shutdown on ubuntu pc doesn't have keyboard connected?

have system setup mp3 player starts , plays when boots need way shut down cleanly or startup sequence can "iffy".

suggested installing ubuntu server edition (and i'm still goofing that) wonder if there isn't script maybe detects power off button press , takes there? or something?

can't based on "the last mp3 played etc" because want random player. (just thinking -- there possibility have turn off @ weird time, 3am or something).

if check system power settings, there should menu there asks when power button pressed... change "shutdown". did laptop , works great.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
