Thread: Solved dual monitor problem, and long resume from sleep (no thanks to System76)

hi, i've been having issue resume sleep taking long time - 2.5 minutes - since upgraded 11.10 - can see posts on thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1862282

had particularly unhelpful experience system76 customer support seemed uninterested in troubleshooting problem - bad 11.10 upgrade , needed re-install 11.10 - no questions asked, no further investigation.

having probed around, decided give try - despite being massive pain in butt. , did nothing. same problems.

don't use dual monitor on laptop really, had cause today , wasn't happy bunny. in course of solving that, found thread got rid of nvidia drivers.

resume lovely under 5 seconds.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
