Thread: Tiger John Chkrootkit
hi everyone! installed program called tiger john chkrootkit: sudo apt-get install tiger john chkrootkit [in terminal, ctr+alt+t] then, ran software. got message telling me html document located somewhere in /var/log (i can't remember was). funny thing is, can't open folder it's located! apparently, not have necessary permissions. assume these folders require root privileges access. now, since ubuntu forums have made clear i'm not supposed login root ever... i'm bit stuck on how open darn thing! i've tried: gksudo firefox [enterfilename] works diddysquat. know how open folder? or need log in root?
well, either:
nautilus root.code:gksu nautilus
or 1 of:
code:sudo bashcode:sudo -ishell root.code:sudo gnome-terminal
navigate want be. although changing directory should shouldn't problem.
note: logging root entirely different, understand. launching root, possible whenever run "sudo cp " or whatever. it's temporary 1 application.
