as3 in timeline and class

hi folks.

 

i'm trying best in game project, can't right.... i'm complete noob in as3 (have done share of simple as2 though, possibly that's problem..), have managed point in project have game functionality, stumble thought no problem @ all. made game "gaming" code in external .as file, , works fine, when add code timeline code snippets, stops working.

 

is possible .as code , timeline code don't work together?

 

thnx in advance

if have document class file, must extend movieclip class, not sprite class, if want add timeline code.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
