Can't complete download of Flash Player 11 to my iMac with 10.8.3, get "metafile download failed"

have tried several times complete download of flash player 11 imac os 10.8.3. each time "metafile download failed" error message. have tried deleting old fp version, still not complete download, same message. have tried looking older fp 10 versions can't find download. have tried both firefox abd safari browsers, still same failure. suggestions out there?

try installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_11_osx.dmg

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
