ColdFusion 10 Updates Failing

hello,  i've installed cf10 , installed mandatory update.  go cf administrator, , see 8 updates available (1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9 - there no 3 showing).  if go straight update 9 (which says includes previous updates), , run "download , install" appears install it.  however, strange.  appears put files right place (at least in hf-updates directory) , recognizes update had been downloaded.  shows not updated.  "download , install" button replaced "re-download" button.  "installed updates" tab returns blank, , updates.xml file blank.  i've installed , re-installed cf several times.  i've run updates manually auto updater.  here strange.  if start @ update 1 , run it, works fine.  if run update 2, runs fine.  there no update 3 shows (strange) , if run update 4, that's starts breaking , not reflecting update, though seems in place, @ least in hf-updates directory.  after update 9, version shows 10,0,0,284568 , not 10,0,0,9xxxxx.   appreciated.   thanks!

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
