How can I send instructions or keystrokes to an open Adobe reader from another program?

hi gurus,

in previous question opened adobe reader file.

now consider case help.pdf file open on page 100 context sensitive of next dialog on page 50. can if not want close adobe reader , reopen again?

i suppose user has not closed needed file , opened one.

how can force curson jump input field of page number, , fill "50" , send [enter] it? or how can send "ctrl+f", sought word , [enter]?

there large api adobe acrobat, nothing suitable using adobe reader purpose. can use keystroke or mouse automation tools, these nothing reader, , different/broken each new release.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
