ID file on Skydrive with data pasted from Word corrupted

i joined creative cloud , downloaded english indesign on 2 of windows 8 computers in japan, created file. original file on skydrive , copied onto cloud. edited couple times more skydrive version more developed. morning when opened sky file, file corrupted.  pages guides partially visible; text invisible. see text should be, paint it, change font, , text briefly appears, disappear again moments later. skydrive file  had couple of pages of tables data copied , pasted word file saved on cloud didn't. can view uncorrupted (but less complete) file on cloud, when download work on it, somehow updated (with new tables) , corrupted: of tables , text invisible , guides partially visible. because i'm using english version of id in japan? or problem skydrive? or perhaps because had pasted text word table? have no idea problem or how correct it. losing file , data no biggie, i'm concerned using id having same problem on other projects.

actually, see problem isn't file, software. can open other id files, when try adding text it, file gets corrupted (guides , text disappear , no longer functions). happens on both computers. uninstalled on 1 computer , reinstalling. if problem persists uninstall again , install japanese version. still appreciate comments should have idea of problem might be.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
