Lack of weekly auto-update prevents installation of Flash 11.7

previously every monday, prompt update flash player on start-up. click okay, remind me i'm doing manually, automatically update version. done in 5 minutes.

 

for 2 weeks i've come in, , download button not opens browser(!) asks re-download procedure on http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/  -- have in past reported inoperable me. downloaded exe fail initialize no matter if anti-virus , firewalls down. dangerous in first place. can read other discussions on matter. have administrative access, have been through checklist scores of times. let me reiterate: there no other way download new version of flash other use automatic update. there no issues automatic update in past. if you're pushing security updates on us, eliminating auto-update not ideal. windows xp, latest firefox.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
