Same Project, No Change, Premiere Is Suddenly Freezing

i have been working on same project in premiere pro little while now, no serious freeze/crash issue can recall.

 

yesterday, example, working , forth between project , after effects compositions. i´m on 16gb , during session did start notice premiere complaining memory every , then, started closing after exporting shot work in ae, in case (although not always, , didn´t seem issue of time). import rendered shot ae premiere (for finding process weird, here´s discussion workflow) , go on working in premiere without closing ae.

 

today opened same project in premiere, made no changes it, , started playing around render options export 16:9 sequence 4:3. chose vimeo sd 23,976 preset h.264 , started scrolling , forth 107 minutes long edit in output window, check how each section in 4:3.

 

i decided make render , after clicking start noticed rendering counter taking lot longer usual show in gray tone (it started white box , stayed way). after don´t know how long stopped , tried again. time gray box "0%" mark showed up, didn´t move anymore long while. might have closed premiere @ point , opened again, i´m not sure.

 

when trying render again, image in output window went black "rendering..." inscription. closed program, restarted machine , when trying again output image in render box continued black, showing same message. , wouldn´t render.

 

i gave , started try , watch footage in editing timeline. froze. every time open project can´t anything. loads media , seems ok, long 1 clicks on start working, freezes. without other program running , after restarting machine, too.

 

i know getting more memory idea , i´m looking it.

 

what weird, though, this: reason project working fine yesterday in conjunction ae, , opened , worked fine period today, still without change being made it, can´t accessed? didn´t make other changes machine (meaning there´s supposedly no more memory being consumed there yesterday).

 

before opening project, overall memory usage in machine around 4.5gb, shown on desktop gadget. when open it, premiere pro usage 3,2gb in task manager, desktop gadget overall pc usage jumps limit (12,8gb, or 16gb minus 3gb reserved other programs).

 

even weirder: until problem occurred, 3gb reserved other programs set 5gb , project worked fine.

 

any thoughts?

 

also, in order try , access project, tricked renaming folder shots are, wouldn´t recognize , skip media search when opening, making lighter, , delete lot of aditional sequences keeping separately , not needed anymore. closed it, renamed media folder , when opened seemed work @ first, of shots showed in media library question marks (they hadn´t gone anywhere , premiere didn´t ask location either). , freezing started again.

 

any ideas how make project lighter can open , use until figure wrong memory?

try deleting cache files , let premiere rebuild cache. also, can open recent auto-save, see if fixes issue.

 

also, check drive space , fragmentation.
