Thread: 10.04 cannot load GUI

i have been having same problem (loading stops right before login credentials, power button gui still works) except haven't updated recently, i'm running ubuntu 10.04, , have 1 monitor.

have been generating rainbow tables few days, , computer has been running 12 hours @ time before shut down , give rest. prior login difficulties, computer not load emerald theme or unable connect internet.

ideas on can repair this?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
