Thread: FAT32/NTFS shared partitiion affected by hibernated Win XP


hello everyone, have got misterious problem.

understood, partition separated windows installation partition can read , write both linux , windows if windows hibernated.

have 4 partitions - windows xp installation, xubuntu 11.10 installation, swap , shared fat32 partition. wrote many gbs of data shared partition xubuntu while win xp hibernated , after went windows system, no data present there. ran recuva , find small part of data. after jumped xubuntu , found out data still there. @ moment backing files external hdd in xubuntu.

same happened me shared partition of ntfs type.

question is, doing/done wrong? want use shared partition win xp hibernated, not great risk. how can resolve it?

btw.:
used pardted magic create partitions.
installed xubuntu-desktop "--without-recommends" argument alternate xubuntu cd.
installed every other package needed manually.

it never idea run dualboots while other os hibernating...as files not appearing, not know there...
