Thread: How to change ubuntu logo icon of left application menu

hi guys

use ubuntu 11.04 desktop edition , have edited grub.cfg but
change ubuntu logo icon of left application menu own one.
1 how customize gdm , usplash own.
when installed remastersys make own distro, not install properly.

alot

one way search through folders in filesystem looking icons , images. need replace default icons , images ones of own creation giving them same names original. icons come in more 1 size. need replicate sizes.

example, if go usr/share/icons/unity-icon-theme/places/22 , /24 folders see ubuntu icon appears @ top of launcher in 11.10. not using 11.04. so, have yourself. have done.

way, work out scripts used load icons , images , edit scripts point icons , images have created.

responsibility yours.

edit: likewise in 11.10 if go etc/lightdm/unity-greeter.conf , open file in gedit see these lines:

[greeter]
background=/usr/share/backgrounds/warty-final-ubuntu.png
logo=/usr/share/unity-greeter/logo.png
in 11.04 have find similar gdm , either edit configuration file point background image , logo of choice or replace 2 png images want giving them same name originals.

using 12.04 development branch , have installed simple lightdm manager. has allowed me change both greeter background image , logo. puts copies of chosen images in own folder , edits unit-greeter.conf point simple lightdm manager folder.

can see how done?

regards.
