Thread: How to setup dual monitor?

hi guys,

sure question has been asked alot, situation bit different.
question divided both hardware part , system installation.

current setup that:

left: computer running windows - connected lcd screen (screen a) dvi cable.
right: computer b running ubuntu - connected lcd screen (screen b) dvi cable.

lcds same type , have both dvi , vga connections.

wanna setup ubuntu shown widescreen on both screen , screen b, while allowing easy way change screen show computer (windows) single/double click.

advised both computers totally seperate different keyboard , everything, thing needed in common connectivity screen both dvi , vga cable @ same time.

know can done without special hardware, best way that? , of course, how should setup system?

thank you!

what wanna setup ubuntu shown widescreen on both screen , screen b, while allowing easy way change screen show computer (windows) single/double click.
it can done quite easy, still have press button on monitor (to choose input) , execute script (via hotkey) in ubuntu. so, not single/double click solution, per se.

can first try set monitor a's input vga (via monitor menu) , see happens? if ubuntu not switch extended mode automatically, have use xrandr.

post outcome of
code:
xrandr -q
when in extended mode in ubuntu (i.e., both screens connected computer b)?
