is possible create .iso-image file of burned dvd "exact copy" of original .iso-file? how canonical make .iso-images of ubuntu-distributes?

yes (and feel stopping answer here becuase answered question. hay, i'm nice guy )

under ubuntu can use brasero, disc copy, , select file output instead of same drive containing source disc.

under kubuntu can use k3b, hit copy medium, on new oped dialouge, select option "only create image" , under image tab select path , filename image.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
