Thread: No Boot - 11.10 install on Asus EFI BIOS

i installing 11.10 on asus p8h61-m le motherboard.

os install ok no errors not boot.i thought had same problems uefi bios , grub many other people have had.

after many reinstalls , various partition schemes,i found sata configuration needed changed.
using wd160 gb ide drive sata converter attached.
think bios may have been confused , set wrong defaults though see drive.
in asus bios selected advanced mode>advanced>sata configuration.
changed ide mode ahci mode
then, when sata3g_1 selection appears in drive list below, select enabled option.

after doing standard automated ubuntu installation booted fine.

hmm interesting. have acquired asus bare bone box p8h67 , have similar problem. @ moment getting "read error" grub2 tries boot. try enable setting mention.
