Thread: Possible to get "apt-get" behind proxy??

hi! confused, because trying terminal use "apt-get", wont download or install anything, (like apt-get update) because school network using proxy is:
proxy.troms.vgs.no:80
have enabled proxy in network settings, doesnt seem work terminal, because need username , password, , cant set username or password anywhere .

dont know, think same problem when using internet browser (on https sites):
can use network-browser normally, except when trying access https:// sites on web, totally locks (the browser). --> firefox saying kind of certificate error, , cant browse on sites :s (i cant make exception..). when start browser, manually enter pass , username.

suggestion welcome! lot

you can make proxy setting permanent editing /etc/apt/apt.conf
