Thread: Question about windows/Ubuntu dual boot and viruses

my teenage daughter malware magnet. run multiple scans on computer weekly , find evil stuff. got rid of bad 1 yesterday , decided install ubuntu (oneiric) in small partition use exclusively surfing. i'm wondering if it's possible infect windows partition while using firefox on ubuntu. sounds unlikely, since windows file system visible ubuntu made me wonder....

reply annb: recommand have microsoft essential (a virus protection) free downloadable microsoft site , activate it. antivir under ubuntu shoul dalso installed. full scan under windows before going further - b rgds - thierry

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
